Capturing Moving Colorscapes with the Ancient Art of Paper Marbling

Colour // Movement // Ecru: The ancient art of Paper Marbling

Need some visual meditation and instant creative gratification?  Discover the beauty and flow of this magical process with no skills required.

Paper marbling is a method of aqueous surface design, which can produce patterns similar to smooth marble or other stone. The patterns are the result of color floated on either plain water or a viscous solution known as size, and then carefully transferred to an absorbent surface, such as paper, fabric or wood.

In this class you will learn how to prepare for marbling and make prints which can be used as greeting cards, wrapping paper or beautiful wall hangings.

We will also discuss colour, how to balance colours in printing and how to bring the colours we see around us into our art.

We will chat and have some snacks and each student will make a set of prints and colour palettes and get all the info needed to set up at home.

Classes are in English but are very visual and hands-on so it's easy to follow along.
