Genre: Post-Punk / New Wave / Dark Wave
Origin: Sweden
Formed in 2016, the band channels the raw energy of punk, the ethereal depth of post-punk, and the dark romanticism of early ’80s new wave and goth.
Led by Olli Ohlander (vocals), with Peter Björkman (guitar), Martin Broman (bass), and Fredrik Ringvall (drums), The Secret French Postcards weave soundscapes that are romantic, pale, and dark — echoing lost memories and nocturnal longing.
After a hiatus spent nurturing Sweden’s local skate scene, Olli returned to music, reigniting his creative fire with his bandmates. Together, they’ve built a sound that feels at once nostalgic and vital, shimmering between melancholy and defiance.
Their discography traces a journey through the shadows — from their debut Les Éditions Ostra to their latest release Life Got Claws — each record deepening their sonic signature.
With releases on Backmask Records and Cold Transmission, The Secret French Postcards have become a name synonymous with emotive, cinematic dark wave.
Now, as they prepare to take their electrifying sound from the studio to the stage, The Secret French Postcards invite audiences to step into their world — where passion meets shadow and beauty haunts every note.
“A dark, cinematic journey through emotion and memory — where each song feels like a love letter from the shadows.”
— Cold Transmission Music
“Sweden’s finest export in modern post-punk melancholy.”
— Backmask Records

"𝐇𝐔𝐈𝐑 es un 'monstruo' de dos cabezas que responden al nombre de Ana of the Head y David Solazo, cuya convicción a la hora de atacar la onda oscura ha llamado ya la atención del sello alemán Cold Transmission y de los mismísimos The KVB, quienes se animaron a remezclar uno de sus temas.
Lo que no es imprescindible que sepas pero mola: El primer concierto del dúo fue como teloneros de The Chameleons. Bautismo de fuego." (Review by Primavera Sound)
